I think it’s safe to say that this weekend was a success.
Saturday I had breakfast on the patio after body pump. I’m feeling all RAWR again. Getting back into my body pump routine! Eggs are my favorite breakfast after body pump. Protein. Rawr.
Saturday afternoon I went hiking with my friend Aimee. Not only was hiking on my summer bucket list, but hiking Rock Cut was on my 101 in 1001 list. One activity and two things checked off. I’m efficient like that. Plus I found out you can go stand-up paddle boarding at Rock Cut. I might just have to take a half day from work and go on a little SUP adventure!
Let’s also add quality time with Abby to this weekend! Abby and I went to see The Campaign last night. I love Will Ferrel movies so I thought it was hilarious. He had total John Edwards hair too. If you like Will Ferrel and you like politics, you will probably love the movie too.
Brunch at the greatest place on Earth
I’m an incredibly lucky lady. I had brunch at Lazy Jane’s two weekends in a row! This weekend it was all about the cheesy grits and a runny egg. Seriously…comfort food. There is something insanely comforting about warm cheesy grits with a runny yolk.
Throw in an iced coffee and some conversation with Abby, and it was one hell of a brunch. We followed brunch up with some serious grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods and then we hit the road. Back to Beloit. Sigh. I miss my Madison.
Abby and I decided to play a little tennis this afternoon and ended up doing drills with my childhood tennis instructor. My backhand is looking fierce now!
I think the greatest part about this weekend was a surprise visit from my friends Kyle and Dave! I hadn’t seen them since my visit to Boston in October. We laid around, caught up on life, and watched trashy tv. It was amazing.
Perfect weather. Lots of laughter. Stayed active. Quality time with good friends.
